ANOTHER DAY, another Android security problem. This time it’s a Captcha-bypassing trojan in the Google Play store that could pilfer up to £160,000 from infected victims.
Bitdefender made the discovery, and has warned that at least seven Android apps in Google Play contain the MKero malware.
Unscrupulous developers have managed to lace their apps with the cash-slurping trojan and bypass Google Bouncer, the firm’s app-vetting system. Bitdefender noted that some apps have contained the malware for at least five iterations without Google having batted an eyelid.
