Developers often tell us they come to platforms specifically to read the comments because the discourse is the knowledge—it reveals when a solution might fail and how it should be modified for specific environments. I encourage teams to use tools that preserve this “back-and-forth” rather than replacing it with a summary, as losing that context means losing the institutional memory of why a certain path was chosen over another. Without this discourse, you aren’t building a knowledge base; you’re just building a list of instructions that may be obsolete or dangerous in a different context.

When evaluating new enterprise software, what specific indicators suggest a tool can handle uncertainty rather than just delivering confident, potentially wrong answers? A knowledge intelligence layer acts as the bridge by connecting these automated suggestions to the specialized, internal expertise of your veteran team, making that institutional wisdom searchable and accessible. Instead of treating AI as an oracle, these layers treat it as a librarian that points you to the right conversation or the right expert when the problem exceeds its training data.

I predict we will move away from the “AI as an Oracle” phase and into an era of “Collaborative Intelligence,” where the most successful platforms are those that integrate seamlessly with human expert communities. We are already seeing that the hardest problems aren’t being solved by better LLMs alone, but by tools that can bridge the gap between AI speed and human trust.
