Google Drive for Work and Education add 5 settings for more control within organizations

Google today announced that it will add new control settings for organizations using Google Drive for Work and Google for Education. These settings will help groups control which departments can share and download files, receive alerts, reset passwords and establish trusted domains with whom to share documents.

Specifically, Google’s five new settings are outlined below:

  • Organizations can now prevent people from downloading, copying and printing files under Information Rights Management (IRM) to only allow select users access to these documents
  • You can now send Drive files to non-Google users by sharing to their e-mail addresses
  • Drive for Work admins can set sharing permissions based on departments within a company
