Having realized that a two-hour keynote is a bit too much for even the most devoted of fanboys to endure, Apple has just announced its new range of iMacs for 2015.
The big news is the option to go 4K with the 21.5-inch model. Sporting a resolution of 4,096 x 2,304 pixels, it offers four times the resolution of the previous iteration. Apple promises 25 percent improvement in color display – although we’ve never heard anyone complain that there’s just not enough red on their screen.
The larger 27-inch versions all boast 5K resolution, but for that extra bit of detail on Andrew Lincoln’s weather-beaten mush on ‘The Walking Dead’ pushes the price up to $1,999. Plus, you’re not going to find too many app-makers or movie studios upscaling their outputs to reflect these pixel densities.
