Just in the last couple of months, we’ve seen catastrophic events across the globe, and here in the U.S., from devastating floods in Pakistan, to very unusual life-threatening heatwaves in the UK, to destructive wildfires in the Sierras. Of course, most recently, we’ve seen the widespread damage of an incredibly powerful hurricane in Florida that killed more than 100 people and caused billions of dollars in destruction. Catastrophic events are not a recent phenomena. Although erratic, these events are becoming a familiar trend.
