Our obsession with AI shouldn’t get in the way of good UX

Artificial Intelligence is the big buzzword of today. If you are a digital designer, there’s a good chance that a quick scroll through your RSS reader, Twitter feed, or Slackchannels will show you more instances of the term “AI” than you would see just a year ago. New products being launched, journalists speculating how many years it will take for robots to take over the world, experts giving their opinion about how to design for AI.

Our entire industry is rushing to launch the world’s first AI-powered (insert a product category here), without a proper use case or business case for it.
